Anything Goes at PTT!

This will be a super short post since my daughter is hanging on me and wants me to play with her. Her playmate (her brother Gavin) just started Early Admission Kindergarten a few weeks ago, so she is bored!

For my card, I used a Tiddly Inks image, which I am really stuck on at the moment!

I was trying for a more CAS look which I am NOT used to!

Since three of my four kids are boys, I need boys birthday cards on hand for when they are invited to birthdays! So this is one of them! I love the image! It is by Kenny K and is called "Dirt Bike Mike". What boy would not like it? 

Colored with Copics of course. I got really colorful with this one, but I love the flames and had to throw in my fave color blue, too!

Fairy Fever

It's Fairy fever over at the Stamptacular Sunday blog! Your challenge this week is to create a card or project with a fairy on it! Easy, right?

I chose to use "Spring Bringer" by Sylvia Zet. I have had her colored up for some time with the intention of using the "Once Upon a Springtime" papers from Graphic 45. I had looked everywhere for them months ago, but since I had just recently found the world of cardmaking long after the papers came out, I fell in love with these papers after seeing projects that had been made several years earlier :( Long story short, I was able to hunt down a pad being sold in a kit for an outrageous price, but I had to have them. It's been over four months, but I finally got up the courage to cut into them and make this card!

The pink silk ribbon was one of the five ribbons that came with the kit. The postcard stamp was stamped  with Vintage Photo and a fairy postage stamp from the paper pad was glued on. I distressed the edges and inked them with Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain. I lightly colored the pearls with R20 Copic to give it a pinkish hue. On the Martha Stewart punch trim I added some Liquid Pearls, although I am not happy with the dots. How am I supposed to do it to get nice round pearls? I have heard of a pearl pen, are those better and where do I buy them?

Now I just need to make sure I save enough papers to make my daughter's first year scrapbook as was my original intention and rationalization for the price I paid!

Frieda Flapper

Good Sunday morning everyone! It's Team A's turn this week at Kenny K's Krafty Krew to inspire you with our take on this weeks challenge:

Vintage

We have the always generous Kenny K as our first sponsor

I used Frieda Flapper for my vintage inspired card and Prima's Moulin Rouge paper pad. I love the blue papers from this pad and Frieda seems to like them too! I made a special trip to the store just for this card to to buy the lace and feathers! I felt the lace was so perfect with the pointy edge and the feathers add a soft touch!

Frieda was colored with Copics and the papers were distressed and inked with Chipped Sapphire, Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo DI. The seam binding was dyed with Chipped Sapphire and it totally matches the flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, love it!

I so need to get some charms and pins for that added something- soon..to heck with budgets, it's a 'need'., right? Not a 'want'!

Well, I hope you all find some inspiration from this card! I am pretty tickled with it.

Color Challenge at PTT

Party Time Tuesdays is having a color challenge this week:

And, here is my take on the challenge:

I had a heck of a time settling on design paper! I didn't seem to have any paper I felt appropriate for the image and that were in the right colors, but I found an "old" 12x12 pad of DCWV Tradewinds for the blue paper and MME Breeze for the yellow. The sentiment came with the adorable Wryn digi stamp. I added some stitching to all the corners, burlap and some Wild Orchid Craft flowers to finish it off! The sketch I used is Sandy's sketch for The Sketchy Challenge. I wasn't too sure about it at first, but I really like how it turned out! Goes to show you can't knock it till you try it!

Here's my girl close up! Copics B32, 34, 37 and Y11, 15 and E11; hair-E51, 53, 57, 59; skin-E000, 00, 11 and R20 were used. I distressed the paper and inked the edges with Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink!

Braeden's Bookmark

Hello everybody! I am doing a non-DT post, yay! I made my second eldest son a bookmark, since he has graduated to chapter books. My son loved it when I showed him which made me really happy as I had colored the image, "Ryder Cole" by Kenny K, all in grays for a different look.

I used C0, 3,5,7,9 for the clothes and W1, 3, 5, 7 for the skin.

I thought I would kill two birds with one stone and make a boy's birthday card for my son's good friend. I used Extreme, one of the newer skateboarder images! They are so perfect for young boys and teens! I would have to say Kenny K images are the only images I like to use for boys as they are edgy and not cutesy like most others. So, here is my card! 

Colored with Copics and the papers are Heidi Swapp's No Limits paper pad. I embossed some paper and cut out a star, then put some eyelets through it and some twine through them. Then to balance the card out, I added some more eyelets to the top left corner. I distressed the papers and added a computer generated sentiment.
