The Christmas spirit is among us this time of year and I was inspired to make a Christmas themed version of my pop up matchbook box. I love giving gift cards and a perfect way to personalize a typically non-personal gift, is with a thoughtful and handmade presentation. I absolutely love the way it turned out using Graphic 45’s Christmas Carol Collection and the bells at the top give it a fun festive jingle as you open it!
Tip 1: Fussy cut out your favorite images and start layering them with foam adhesive to create a dimensional cluster.
Tip 2: Curl the edges of some fussy cuts to add even more visual interest and dimension.
Check out my video for a tutorial on how to make your own pop-up gift box :)
Good morning! Today I am happy to share my newest organizational tool! The year is coming to a close (way too fast!)and soon we will be starting on our New Year’s resolutions. I thought I would get a head start on mine: organization! I have turned Graphic 45’s Mixed Media Album into my new daily-life planner. I’ve decorated it with my all-time favorite collection, Steampunk Debutante, on the cover and base pages. With the help of Time to Flourish 8x8 calendar pages, and my custom weekly and daily inserts, I am all set to plan my days in style. Each month I will plan with a new gorgeous collection to match my mood and it will be a real pleasure to keep track of all my to-do’s, tasks and deadlines! If you’d like to plan in Graphic 45 style too, download and enjoy my free weekly and daily planner printables at the end of this post. I have a walk-through video of how I organized it and how I will use it, along with a brief tutorial on how to use my printables as your own planner inserts.
I love how with this planner, I can keep it as a keepsake of what my family and I did. I can even add pictures onto and between the pages using pocket pages sleeves!
If you would like to make your own version of a planner check out my free insert below. I have the inserts for daily and weekly inserts in the vintage style I used for my planner. It has a parchment like coloring, which you can add more ink to the edges. There is also some watermarks of vintage graphics faintly showing through. For those who don't want to use as much toner/ink, I have the same inserts available with plain white backgrounds. For the weekly, you have the option of starting your week on Monday and having your Friday and weekend on one page (like I have), or you can choose to start your weekly on Sunday on through Saturday.
Welcome to the Annual Handmade Holidays Blog Hop! I'm lucky enough to join in on the fun this year and I know you will find so much inspiration for wonderful handmade gifts for giving during the holidays! As a bonus, we are having a giveaway of over $600 in craft supplies to help you make this holiday handmade. Enter to win using the widget at the bottom of the post!
As the holiday season descends upon us, we begin to
look around us to remind ourselves of all the things we are grateful for. Every
year, I make a coupon book for my children for Christmas for them to redeem
throughout the year. I thought this year I would include my husband in on the fun
and make him a special coupon box filled with special coupons catered to his
likes. It’s my way of thanking him for being the wonderful husband and father
that he is. If you have a special friend or loved-one you would like to show your
gratitude to, a coupon book box may be the gift you are looking for! So, follow
along with me and I’ll share with you how I made mine along with a fun coupon
graphic you can download and print!
Graphic 45 outdid themselves with the Rare Oddities
Collection. It has one of my all-time favorite patterns- paisley, along with
skulls and potions and amazing colors! Since Halloween is fast approaching I
felt the desire to make some fun pieces to get my home looking festively
spooky. Since I love to take pictures of
my kids in their costumes but don’t take a lot, I created this tri-fold brag
book that will hold just enough photos and can be stood up and displayed as a Halloween
décor piece year after year, as well. I love double duty projects! I hope you
check out the tutorial I put together for you and try one out for yourself.
Change up the collection and it’s perfect for any occasion and is so quick to
put together that they make great gifts, too!
Rare Oddities is a fussy cutters dream Halloween collection!
As soon as I saw some craft pumpkins in my local big box craft store, I knew
how I wanted to combine the two to make THE perfect Halloween décor piece for
my home! I carved out a large ‘window’ to reveal the hollow inside, used my Art-C Groove tool to sand the rough edges down, painted the inside black and went to
town adding all sorts of fussy cut elements to create a spooky 3D scene inside
my pumpkin! Since Halloween is best suited to celebrate in the dark of night, I
added some lights to highlight areas inside the pumpkin. I had so much fun
making this project and the best part of my pumpkin carving adventure is that
this pumpkin can be enjoyed for many Halloweens to come!
Tip #1: Want something not so dark and spooky- try a festive
orange or white craft pumpkin.
Tip #2: Love the look but overwhelmed with the space to
fill? Start by choosing larger fussy cut elements to create the main scene and
fill in the rest with finer fussy cuts; or, fill in using ready-made
embellishments to save time.
Hi, all! I have fallen in
love…again! Meet my new love- the Graphic 45 Altered Art Matchbook Box. I am terrible at buying gifts, so I am mainly a money or gift card giver and I wanted a fun new way of presenting a
small gift, like a gift card or similar. So, in walks the new love of my life
and, boy, did we had a blast together! Throw in some World’s Fair paper and a
fun pop-up twist when the recipient opens the box, and our time together was
super fun!
Tip: Sometimes it’s
hard to part with a handmade card for fear of its fate once given away, but the
Altered Matchbook Box is a gift in itself that the recipient can use after the
gift card is gone: for holding small items or re-gift it to keep the gift
giving going (no shame in that). Your hard work and time will not be wasted
with this fun gift box.
Happy Friday! Today I have a boxed album to share and a tutorial to go along with it!
I love making boxed
mini albums and Graphic 45’s Mixed Media boxes make it so easy to whip up a
quick album base with just a few alterations. I used the Gilded Lily Collection
to make a fancy and feminine album perfect for adding my daughter’s dance
pictures or birthday pictures. If you’re looking to try one for yourself then
grab a Mixed Media Box and I’ll share with you how to make your own boxed mini
album base ready for decorating in a jiffy!
Tip: Mixed Media
boxes come in Ivory, Kraft and Black. Want a different color, paint it! You
don’t need to paint the whole thing if you’re adding paper, so just paint the
edges that will show. I especially like metallic paint like gold to match the
Christmas Carol Collection or deep bronze for Steampunk Debutante.
