I had the pleasure of coloring up
Tomboy Trouble. I used a scrapbook layout by Keren Tamir as my inspiration for the card's design. I just loved her layout with the layers, curled paper and brick stenciling.
I used the first line down: flowers, lots of layers, swirls and glitter. The paper is Prima's Nature Garden, the flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts and the swirl stamp I used is Inkadinkadoo. The flower swirl stamp was causing me issues: I could not get it to stamp with white. I finally had to go over the stamped swirl with white gel pen to make it more visible in the top left and bottom right corners, although after adding everything else they are back to being barely noticeable!
With my Cameo, I created a brick template to stencil with gesso on the design paper and on the images background with Milled Lavender DI. Not bad, although I am hoping to buy the Crafter's Workshop one soon and maybe a few others ;) I also used the Cameo to make the die cut corner pieces on either side of my image. I frantaged them with aged white or shabby white, something like that. It has flecks of gold and gold glitter amongst the chunky white. I also frantaged the wood heart that I stamped the sentiment on after white washing it with white paint.
In between the design paper and the corrugated cardboard that I gessoed, I stuck some gauze that I bought at the 99 cent store- a nice substitute since I didn't have cheesecloth. I also added some underneath each of the flower clusters along with some punched out leaves and curled flower stem wires.
Here's a closeup of the spunky Tomboy Colored in with Copics! She screams for a fun/funky design and I knew I wanted something different like the brick background I finally decided on. Can't wait to make another one using paint splatters in the background!
I hope you all find some inspiration in my creation today and don't forget to check out what the other talented DT members have created!
******Have a great day!*******
