Kenny K's New Release and a New Challenge!

Good  morning! We have a new challenge over at the Kenny K's Krafty Krew blog for you! Tic tac toe; choose any column, row or diagonal!

Our generous sponsors this week:

Kenny K $20 Gift Certificate

Yes, three awesome prizes are up for grabs!

Not only that, Kenny K Downloads is releasing some brand new, fabulous and fun images and the Krafty Krew have some inspiration for you this week using the fun new images!

I had the pleasure of coloring up Tomboy Trouble. I used a scrapbook layout by Keren Tamir as my inspiration for the card's design. I just loved her layout with the layers, curled paper and brick stenciling.

I used the first line down: flowers, lots of layers, swirls and glitter. The paper is Prima's Nature Garden, the flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts and the swirl stamp I used is Inkadinkadoo. The flower swirl stamp was causing me issues: I could not get it to stamp with white. I finally had to go over the stamped swirl with white gel pen to make it more visible in the top left and bottom right corners, although after adding everything else they are back to being barely noticeable!

With my Cameo, I created a brick template to stencil with gesso on the design paper and on the images background with Milled Lavender DI. Not bad, although I am hoping to buy the Crafter's Workshop one soon and maybe a few others ;) I also used the Cameo to make the die cut corner pieces on either side of my image. I frantaged them with aged white or shabby white, something like that. It has flecks of gold and gold glitter amongst the chunky white. I also frantaged the wood heart that I stamped the sentiment on after white washing it with white paint.
In between the design paper and the corrugated cardboard that I gessoed, I stuck some gauze that I bought at the 99 cent store- a nice substitute since I didn't have cheesecloth. I also added some underneath each of the flower clusters along with some punched out leaves and curled flower stem wires.

Here's a closeup of the spunky Tomboy Colored in with Copics! She screams for a fun/funky design and I knew I wanted something different like the brick background I finally decided on. Can't wait to make another one using paint splatters in the background!

I hope you all find some inspiration in my creation today and don't forget to check out what the other talented DT members have created!

******Have a great day!*******

Tic Tac Toe

Hello crafters! I have joined in on the Party Time Tuesday Challenge this week and it is Tic Tac Toe!

This one presented a challenge for me. It was my own fault. I made my card without even thinking about the tic tac toe challenge part of it! I had a CAS idea for this Bugaboo image and got my card all finished and then remembered, "Hey! You have to follow the challenge!" So I tweaked it to add glitter to his party hat, rhinestones on either side of the sentiment and ribbon to the inside. Phew! Dodged that one!

I also added glossy accents to the glasses and the clock face.
I colored the poor old man with copics and the sentiment I created with my dad in mind. It is just so him..he has a crude sense of humor :)

Join in the challenge this week for your chance at several awesome prizes: Bugaboo Stamps, SRM Stickers and Paper Pretties!

Challenges I'd like to enter:
Lexi's creations (Lace and/or Ribbons)
Sparkle n Sprinkle (Use Digital Image)

Stamptacular Sunday

As you all may have already found out, the Stamptacular Sunday Challenges will be on hold for a few months. I am really bummed but totally understand the reasons behind the very difficult decision. When the blog starts back up (and I am crossing my fingers all goes well) I will be eager to continue on the DT.

I feel a little lost really without my weekly card requirement and I have become dependent on it to force myself to have 'mommy's crafting time'. Ah well, I will find my groove again. Family comes first and the Challenge blog must wait. My thoughts are with Priscilla and her family and I look forward to the day that I get the email from Priscilla saying "We're back on!"

Uptown Angel

Good morning! It is time for another challenge over on the Kenny K Krafty Krew blog and it's an easy one everyone will love:

Die Cuts and/or Punches

We are sponsored by Kenny K with a Kenny K rubber stamp for one winner

and Flonz with a $20 gift voucher
for a second winner!

I really enjoyed this one and got out my Tim Holtz tattered florals die to make some flowers! For my image I used the cute Uptown Angel digi from Kenny K Downloads. I followed the sketch for the CLP challenge, which I really enjoyed.

The DP is My Mind's Eye Indie Saffron. The smaller flowers are made with a circle punch and a flower punch from Michael's. I added pearls to the centers and pearl stamens from Wild Orchid Crafts to the big flower that was cut using the tattered florals die. The other embellies include Recollections pearl swirls and a 7 Gypsies swirl metal paper clip to old my sentiment.

I used my Copics to color Uptown Angel and I love how the whole card turned out, It's so bright and fun!

Don't forget to check out what the other creations the Krafty Krew have for you! Thanks for looking and have a great day!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:
