Doilies Galore!

Well, I hope everyone had a wonderful time over the the holidays with family and friends! I sure did! We had a whirlwind of activities which included Christmas parties, my eldest having a birthday (the big 8!), then of course Christmas Eve and Christmas! It was only hampered by the flu as it made its way through me and three of my four kids! Hubby got away scott free!! Anywho, I was busy as I am sure all of you were, so I am proud to say I was able to make a couple cards, one of which I am sharing to day for the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge!

The challenge is to use: Doilies! I guess my title gives it away, he he! Meljens Designs is our sponsors and they are offering the winner four digis of their choice! So, without further ado here is my card!

I really like how light and bright it is. I was in the mood for banners, so I made a bunch of strips and moved them around until I was happy. I really like this paper pad, but of course I don't know the name. I will have to add it later! Wild Orchid Craft flowers to embellish and a few pearls and it's a card!

The image is "Wryn" by Tiddly Inks, so cute! Colored with Copics and the sentiment is stamped with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink! I use regular printer paper for my images since my husband prints them out at work, so you can see a glare in her hair where the paper wouldn't take anymore ink :(  I really need to break down and by some real blending paper! One day, maybe.

Well, that's it! I hope you all enjoy this card as much as I do! Don't forget to stop by Stamptacular Sunday to see what my other teammates have created with doilies! And, join in, I would love to see what you all come up with!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Emboss Me!

It's Sunday and that means a new challenge at Stamptacular Sunday!
This week's challenge is a…
“EMBOSS Me!”

For this week's challenge you will create a card or project that uses some sort of embossing...your choice, can be heat embossing or dry embossing.  Oh…and don’t forget to STAMP!  After all…we don’t call this the STAMPtacular Sunday Challenge for nothing!
You will have from now until midnight  (EST) , December 29, 2012 to complete this challenge and post a DIRECT LINK to your submission into our InLinkz in order to be entered into the drawing for this week's fabulous prize donated by:
PRIZE:  $10 Gift Certificate!

For my card this week, I have used the adorable 'Spring Bling' by Tiddly Inks. I have turned her into a Christmas Bling image as my last Christmas card for the year. Phew! I am Christmas card-ed out!
So, for my card I used MME Traveler paper pad and embossed the background paper with a Swiss Dots embossing folder.
I handmade my poinsettia and holly. I scored the veins, added bling to the center and around the card which I then colored with my Copics.

I added glossy accents to the berries for some added dimension and then stamped around the image with a postmark stamp that went well with the stamp sentiment. I tried my hand at some folds in the dress based on the videos of from Zoe of Zoe's Craft Blog! I admire her skills so much! I am happy with some of it and not so happy with other bits, so I'll keep trying.
I thought this was a fun little card to send to my nieces and nephew in Utah to enjoy along with their gifts.
I hope you all enjoy it too and please stop by the Stamptacular blog to see how the other DT members have outdone themselves with our embossing challenge!
Happy Holidays to all!

Christmas is On the Way

Here's my other quick card I wanted to share. I hope the pictures are coming in better for you all than they are foe me. They looked fine when I edited them, but now they look terrible on this device. Oh, well.
This is a brand new stamp to me. 'On the Way' by Lili of the Valley. They are having a sale and I was quick to order some stamps and as soon as they arrived I had to color this one up!

It is another flowerless card, but I really thought the sweet image was enough.
I added some blobs of glitter for some snow and Copics to color!

Ta-ta for now!
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Good morning! It is another fun challenge at Stamptacular Sunday! It's

For my card I have used the fabulous 'WinterFairy Talva! by Mo Manning! I love this image and can't seem to get enough of her for my Christmas cards or aqua!

I have used Copics to color her and Wild Orchid Craft flowers. I painted the metal corner with picket fence and Glossy Accents. I distresses around the image with Tumbled Glass and I had a few smudges that I wanted to hide, so I stamped around my image with a snowflake stamp with Versa Mark Ink and used some white embossing powder. I really like how it turned out! Here's a close-up to see the embossing a little better! It is subtle but a nice touch.
I also added glitter to her wings and flowers and flocking powder to her leg warmers and pom poms!

I hope you like this rendition of "Talva"! Don't forget to check out what the other talented ladies have created over on the Stamptacular Blog and have a fabulous Sunday!

Anything but a Card!

Wow! I can't believe it has been  a whole week since I have posted!  Everything seems to be happening at once lately at my house! Anyways,  this week’s challenge is going to be so much fun!  We can’t wait to see what you create!
This week's challenge is a…

“Anything BUT A CARD!”

For this weeks challenge you will create something you’d make to give as a gift! The possibilities are endless…whatever your mind can create and your heart desires!  Have fun with this one!  Oh…and don’t forget to STAMP!  After all…we don’t call this the STAMPtacular Sunday Challenge for nothing!
You will have from now until midnight (EST) December 14th, 2012 to complete this challenge and post a DIRECT LINK to your submission into our InLinkz in order to be entered into the drawing for this week's fabulous prize from Marianne Designs!
For my project, I decided to make a calendar! I am one of those people that hates clutter and knick-knacks. I like clear, uncluttered surfaces, so I have a hard time thinking of things that I can hand-make that people will actually want and use. Some things are really gorgeous to look at but are pretty useless and end up getting tossed, so I went into Target with the intention of looking for something to inspire me. As is habit, I went to the dollar section so see what junk bargains they had. Lo and behold, inspiration struck when I found calendar pads...6x6 calendar pads!  I love how they are designed so that there is actual space to write things in even though it is only 6in. sq. This is what I came up with:

Not the best picture (it's been really overcast here). My older sister's birthday is coming up and I kept procrastinating making her card. I had the papers picked out and the image semi colored, but I must have been waiting for the calendars to find me :) before I could finish. I decided to combine her card into a gift!
I created the "card" and then cut some chipboard into a 12in by 6in rectangle. I glued the calendar on the bottom and the "card" on the top after adhering some ribbon for a hanger loop! Perfect! A calendar that's off the counter and ready for the wall!

My sister is into busy, blingy and sexy, so this was right up her alley! I used a Recollections flourish that had the pretty white flowers (I've had this since I started card making, just waiting for the right project), Wild Orchid Craft paper flowers and Prima's "Moulin Rouge" paper pad. The image is the sexy "Jayne Jettpack" by Kenny K! I attempted a dark reddish-black hair, but I'm not thrilled with it. I had her all colored and left her hair for last, so I was not about to scrap her! She still is pretty cute!

Copics:
Hair C9, R59, 37
Skin E000, 00, 11 R20
Clothes W1,3,5 C0, 3, 5, 7, 9 R32, 35, 37, 59

I hope you all like this project! I do! I have two more calendar pads and am thinking about buying more for Christmas gifts for MIL, Mom, myself...!

There is a lot more inspiration on the Stamptacular Sunday blog from my teammates, so check it out and join in on the challenge. I can't wait to see what you all come up with!

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

Kenny K's Krafty Krew!

Hi all! It's a second post in the same day for me, so please scroll down if you woud like to see my Stamptacular DT post!

I wanted to make a special post to share the news about my new position on Kenny K's Krafty Krew! I was super excited to get the email from Susie Little and I can't wait for January when my term starts! I will be on team A! I guess I didn't  jinx myself with my big old post for my entry earlier! Yay!

There is a new challenge starting today: Frosty Hues. So stop by if you haven't before. They use fun and hip images that are totally my family's style. When I make a card and deign to ask what kind of image they would prefer, they go for Kenny K's: from my kids (3-8), my husband, my sister (23 & 32), my mom(61 shhh!)...you name them, they prefer them! They are perfect for the kids, teenagers and young adults, your partner, and other trendy/sexy/hip kind of people in your life!

A Stamptacular Photo Inspiration

It's another challenge over at Stamptacular Sunday and it's a....

“CHRISTMAS PHOTO Inspiration!”

For this weeks challenge you will create a CHRISTMAS card using the above photo as your inspiration.  Your possibilities are endless!  Oh…and don’t forget to STAMP!  After all…we don’t call this the STAMPtacular Sunday Challenge for nothing!
You will have from now until midnight (EST) December 8th, 2012 to complete this challenge and post a DIRECT LINK to your submission into our InLinkz in order to be entered into the drawing for this week's fabulous prize: $25 to the Paper Temptress!
I made this card a week and a half ago, so I totally forgot about the image  I used and it's the same as the post before this!  Good thing "Joyful Tilda"  is cute! I used My Mind's Eye paper pad. The post card is a stamp. I am so happy I bought: I love it! I used Wild Orchid Craft flowers, of course, and the ribbon I bought from Joann's during Black Friday. It was my first time shopping Black Friday and I'm on the fence about the whole thing. Any whoo, I stitched and distressed, added pearls and called it done!

Tilda was colored up in the usual Copic suspects with some glitter glue on the cookies.

I hope you like my card and don't forget to check out what the other ladies have created over at the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge blog! There are some fabulous cards for inspiration and a fab prize up for grabs if you join in!

Happy Holidays

Hi all! I am just popping in quickly to share a card I made to enter a few challenges! I recently found CLP  Challenge Blog and Live and Love Crafts Challenge blog and I absolutely love the creations their DT's have made. These crafters are so talented and so inspiring! This card uses the CLP  sketch and fits the Christmas theme of the Live and Love Crafts challenge!

I tried my hand at a spotted shadow: it needs some work! Wild Orchid Craft flowers and My Mind's Eye papers were used. The heart charm with bling is from a necklace I bought at the 99 cent store. It came with 2 other hearts; one the same size and one slightly bigger. I used glitter glue on my cookies for sprinkles.

I purchased some random Copics and wanted to color with them, so I experimented with ones I already had to make it work. The dress is RV000, my new RV93, and R81. The skin and hair are my usual and the boots are done with my new E43 plus W1, 3 and 5. Yes, random, but my local shops carry random colors and I shopped Small Business Saturday to get them!
Thanks for looking and I hope you like my card! Have a great weekend!

PRIZE:  Winner's Choice of 2 Digis!

I used "Winter Fairy Halla" from Mo's Digital Pencil. She is just adorable!  I got an amazing deal at Michaels for some small vintage Christmas stamps and I used the tree stamp for my scene background. I stamped with Weathered Wood Distress Ink twice and a third time without re-inking for some more distant looking trees. I then covered them is snow glitter!  The die cut trees were cut with my Silhouette and dabbed with Picket Fence.

The metal corner is from Wild Orchid Crafts. The sentiment frame is from Whimsy Stamps and my "Merry Christmas" stamp from the Michael's set fit perfectly into it! I added glitter to my Copic colored fairy and some bling to my sentiment. Some lace, twine and bells finish it off!

Oh, she is adorable! Love Mo images! Thanks for looking and don't forget to join Stamptacular's challenge this week and to check out the other amazing creations my teammates have to inspire you with!

Pretty Bouquet

I hope everyone had a fulfilling ;) Thanksgiving. I am pooped, but I had made this card yesterday and wanted to show you all! I have used a Lili of the Valley pre-colored die cut from a prize win i mentioned a couple of posts earlier. I really didn't know if I would use it because I like to color my own images, but it came in handy for a quick card fix for this paper junkie!  It is super cute and luckily enough it went along with The Ribbon Girls challenge of shades of purple!

The sentiment is computer generated and all the flowers except for the deeper purple peony are Wild Orchid Crafts. The papers are Prima's Nature Garden. I glitter glued the butterflies (and looking now I see I have overlooked one, darn it!) I also added some Liquid Pearls around her.  The sketch is for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge and I have managed to cover up all but a tiny corner of the black flowered paper layer! This is the sketch:

Spring Bringer Resprung!

I am being naughty and crafting instead of prepping for the big Turkey day we are hosting tomorrow! I finished a card I started last night and I am so happy with it! I used "Springbringer" by Sylvia Zet. I first made her into a fall fairy for my Stamptacular Sunday debut. You can see her in my post here. This time I made her more in the spring style with soft colors!

I used Prima Madeline papers, Wild Orchid Crafts roses and the peonies are Prima. I used seam binding that I had dyed using Victorian Velvet Distress Ink! The crochet ribbon is from my grandmother, originally bought for a dress I made for my daughter! The cute little "Made with love" charm is from Bunny Zoe's Crafts and I made the pleated kraft card fan with Martha Stewart"s Doily punch. I distressed the pages with scissors and Vintage Photo and sewed around some of the layers, but it is not showing up too well in the photo!

She is colored with Copics: my usual skin E00,000,11 R20 hair E50,51,53,57 Clothes RV000, R81,83,85 BG10,15 C0 W3 and colorless blender, shadow C0

Warmest Wishes!

I'm back with another Tiddly Inks "Cocoa Wishes" card! I hope I don't bore you with repeat images so close together, but I find I like coloring up multiples of the same image different ways as soon as I get them. That way they are still new and fun for me! This one is a Christmas card through and through!

I used the sketch from The Sketchy Challenges! I just found this blog and I am so happy as they have fantastic sketches! And a talented Design Team!

I used My Mind's Eye paper pads: Traveler and Union Square. All Wild Orchid Craft flowers!!
It seems I am obsessed with adding jingle bells to my cards at the moment! The rhinestones are colored with Copics, as is my image.

I had it in my head that I was going to have a sweet red bird on the plate, so what did I do? I started coloring the plate with red, doh! Now I have an exotic green bird, instead!
Copics: hair and shoes E11,15,18,57; Skin E000,00,11 R20,22
Clothes YG03,63,67 E50,51,53
Mug and plate R32,35,37,59

As always, thank you for looking!

Cocoa Wishes

So, I was finally able to make a card 'just because' today!  Yesterday I bought this cute Tiddly Inks image called "Cocoa Wishes" and had to color her up!  I used the sentiment that I saw on one of the inspiration cards on the Tiddly Inks blog because it was so corny cute!

The sketch is from 2 Sisters Challenge, which I really like! The flowers are WOC and the leaves are a Martha Stewart border punch! I used some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to ink some of the papers and the bling are iridescent ones from my stash!

Copics: Skin E000, 00, 11, R20
Hair E11, 13, 15, 18, 57
Pant, Bird and Shoes E50, 51, 53
Aqua B00, 02, BG10, 15
Shadow BV31, C0

Thanks for taking a look and please leave me a comment to tell me what you think! Also, if you are not already, become a follower if you like what you see! It makes my day to know that there are people out there who like what I do, since no one around me IRL understands my obsession;)

Someone Needs a Hug

***This is my second post, so if your'e looking for my Stamptacular DT post, it's the previous post*****

Oh, Friday was a wonderful day! My LOTV winnings from a Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge came in the mail today after a super long wait (okay, the wait was expected, but I'm an instant gratification kinda gal)! I picked out two sweet images and "Never too Old for a Hug" was the first one to get colored up! This was my first time actually using a rubber image! I always use digital, so I found it tricky getting a nice even stamp. I need to look up some tips and tricks, so if anyone can help me out, I'd totally appreciate it!

I used Prima Madeline papers, Wild Orchid Crafts roses (Prima non-roses) and my brand new Spellbinders die (60% off Joann's coupon used at Michaels, woot woot!) The sketch I used is the current challenge for Cute Card Thursday:

Isn't she sweet? I colored her with Copics: E000, 00, 11, R20 (skin);
E51, 53, 11, 13, 15, 18 (hair);
R81, 83, 85, YG03, 63,67 (clothes and wings);
W3, 5 and blender for the rabbit and E51, 53, 57 and colorless blender for the bear

Thanks for looking!

Winter Fairy Talva

*****My Stamptacular Sunday DT post is two posts down.****

OMG! I love this image! I was so excited to color it up I couldn't wait for my husband to print it at work, so I did it at home with ink incompatible with Copics and did my best to stay away from the lines. I was unsuccessful at times, but it was so worth it! This is Winter Fairy Talva by Mo Manning! I've been eyeing her for a couple months and finally bought her!

I used the sketch from Papertake Weekly:
sketch #73
I used Copics BG 10 and 15. And E 50, 00, 11 & R20 for skin. E 50, 51, 53 and colorless blender for hair.
I had some snow white glitter to use on the snow bits and glitter glue for the furry bits! The snowflake was cut with my Silhouette and the flowers are WOC!

I colored up another one in pink that I haven't made into a card yet. Maybe the laundry can wait one more day!?!
